Baby got back

Well, ok, I know I'm brutally misusing that phrase . . . what I really mean is 'I'm back!' Returned Friday night, but yesterday morning I hit the floor running. Yesterday was Sue's mom's funeral and it was quite a rush of a morning getting ready, especially since I slept in until 9.

It was a lovely service and I am so grateful that I could be there for Sue. It turned out to be a meaningful day for me too, personally. The funeral was held at St. Luke's Episcopal. It's a lovely old church in the middle of a cotton field in the valley near the border with New Mexico. It's one of those places that has called to me; I've visited before.

This time it was different somehow. I felt at home, I mean really at home, like I've not felt in a church before. At least since I was a child. I even took communion! Which is a huge thing for me. I haven't done that in years & years.

Afterwards, I learned that a lot of people go to that church who are not Episcopalian; that there are no requirements of membership or declaration. It is simply a place to worship and it is open and accepting of everyone.

So, to make a long story short, I'm going back today. And I'm sure, that more too shall be revealed.

I would love to see a photo of that church.
